Ramen Tatsu-ya Announces New Location on The Drag coming fall 2025

L-R: Ramen Tatsu-Ya Co-Founder Takuya ‘Tako’ Matsumoto and Chef + Founder Tatsu Aikawa

Newest Location Will be for Walk-Up Counter Service

In Fall of 2025, the nationally-acclaimed Ramen Tatsu-ya will open its 8th ramen shop in Texas at 2416 Guadalupe Street. The smallest location to date will house a kitchen and feature exterior windows for walk-up service and outdoor seating on a covered bar and patio area. Situated on The Drag, which borders the west side of the University of Texas campus, Tatsu-ya will amp up the exterior energy with large, colorful ‘drag-on’-inspired visuals by Michael Sieben and a menu of Japanese soul food for takeaway, including pork, chicken, and vegetable-based ramen.

“It's really cool to be opening up a location on The Drag,” says Tatsu Aikawa, Ramen Tatsu-ya Chef + Founder. “It was a special place for me as a kid, I would go skate and hang out with the skaters, go to arcades, and dig the crates at record shops; It will bring back a lot of memories to be there and will be kind of like coming full circle,” he explains.

In true Ramen Tatsu-ya fashion, a host of local artisans and professionals will complete the location in time to serve Longhorns as they descend on campus for the fall semester. Kim Lewis Designs, the design firm responsible for the interior design of the Round Rock Shop, which opened in June 2024, will once again lead the design charge at Ramen Tatsu-ya’s upcoming location. Michael Sieben and Show Goat Mural Works will complete art and mural work, with Ion Art completing signage and shopfront art. Gary Green will add hand-painted signage .
